Pressed but Not Crushed

Exodus 14:13-14...
Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today.  For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again.  The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.

Oh, how these verses elate me!  There is complete and total deliverance available as we trust God in the face of the enemy, to fight for us.  Though a vast sea of limitation be before us, God gives the power and means and wisdom (the how-to's) to get through.  For the Israelites it was Moses' obedience to lift up that rod in faith; it was their obedience to follow; it was the fire and the cloud; it was the hardening of Pharoah's heart in pursuit. For me in my physical challenges, it's eating raw vegetables for as many months as I can stomach them-UG!  In my sin, it's confessing and forsaking them and trusting in the finished work of the cross for cleansing, imputed righteousness and restoration.  It's leaning on the enabling grace of God to walk out victory over those sin patterns.  So Pharoah still breathes down my neck, but I know from this passage that though the enemy, even then, pursue us- GOD WILL prevail!  GOD WILL BE HONORED over our foe.  My part is to "fear not" and to stand on His Truth, His Word to me in my circumstances and not to sink when I look at the wind and the waves getting ever more imposing.  Rather, keeping my eyes fixed on the Author and Finisher of my faith, I choose not to be crushed in the pressing, but to offensively press on toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ.

v.18...
The Egyptians shall know and realize that I am the Lord when I have gained honor and glory over Pharoah, his chariots and his horsemen.  I love that God's heart and purpose is always to display His glory and truth to unbelieving hearts.  By His grace, I may, perhaps, be a faithful conduit.  Nothing is impossible with God.
   Exodus 15:2-6
The Lord is my Strength and my Song and He has become my Salvation; This is my God and I will praise Him, my father's God and I will exalt Him.
The Lord is a Man of War; the Lord is His name.
Pharoah's chariots and his host has He cast into the sea....
Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.

Redeeming the Time, a personal plan

Wow - it's been so long, but not being on here has not meant no activity and meaning in life - rather the contrary!  It has been a month of great exhilarations and deep trials.  God has graciously poured in some incredible depths of understanding beyond what I had in the realm of sharing the sufferings of Christ - loving people in their sin so much it hurts.  My previous sufferings had been all about me and / or my family - this was and is, entirely different.  I've also seen through 40 days of intensified prayer and for me, some fasting (doctor said no way to a complete fast) for the nation that has rekindled a desire like never before to be busy to redeem the time and get busy for God.  Ironically, I've just been told by my doctor that I need to not be busy because the condition of my adrenals is, umm, serious - so my being busy for Christ is going to look mellow to the outward eye, but I plan to be more intensified and purposeful in prayer and fastings and to (drawing a deep breath) start that book.  I can't believe it, but when you hear from God, you know it - and Friday I definitely heard from God.  My initial goals for writing will be: first, to communicate the gospel in a way that can reach an average American (my target audience of heart); to put deep truths of faith in everyday clothing, so that a non-believer can observe without fear the ideal for their own lives and be drawn to that place of godly sorrow unto repentance.  I need to stir up the gift of God that is in me which has been laying dormant for over 10 years and begin the adventure of prophetic writing.  I tremble at the implications.  I expect to not write on Xanga too often unless I get a gleaning along the way that just must be shared.  I humbly and earnestly would ask anyone who might read this post to pray that I would live so purposefully in these next few months and that God would totally be glorified in my efforts regardless of the outcome.  I only see in part and have determined to obey and leave the results to Him.  My writing ability is rusty to say the least, but I trust God to just use me as His conduit and for ability to take a back seat that I would never be tempted to glory for myself.  That is my prayer and that is what the past ten years in the fire has been all about.  Praise the name of Jesus!

Being a conservative Christian labeled cultic in Williamsburg

Hey, wow has my family had a whirlwind coupla days getting situated for the Jamestown 400!  We endured 3 hours of timeshare guerilla marketing (no sale - can't get blood from a stone!) to be enabled to get a room in Williamsburg, which is good, as the activity will begin tomorrow am before the rooster crows!  Otherwise we'd've had to drive over an hour back and forth from Richmond each day.  God is so good.  Tai and I both found money - she in her pocket and me in an old anniversary card from my mom which I never had opened and was still in my travel bag!  Awesome!  As we stood in line to register, a couple who'd been in the area a couple days already shared a Williamsburg newspaper article with us which made my heart so sad.  It was obviously written by someone not only with a misunderstanding, but also a hatred for Christianity and the family values and honor to Christian heritage we uphold.  Bashed in the article was patriarchy (well, if the man isn't the head of the household, who is?), paternal oversight over children's marriages (so kicking kids out of the nest to try out partners is preferable to the protective wisdom and counsel of one who loves you most and has invested all of your life so far on you?)  They also trashed Vision Forum as a political organization and well, yes, if you stand for family and chivalry and honorable values, I suppose you are indeed making a political statement.  But a cult?  I think not.  If all likeminded people were categorized into cults, then I suppose we could classify, but merely to take an unpopular, un-politically-correct stance boldly as a group, does not constitute a cult.  sorry Williamsburg News.  Our prayer is that God is glorified as we go through this week and that our witness of the gospel, beheld in our demeanor, conversations and countenances, would dispel any attempts at gainsaying and discrediting Christ and make way for Truth. Our divorced timeshare guide wanted to know our secret for family togetherness and we told him boldly - God alone. The bonding power of the blood of Jesus Christ!   Soli Deo Gloria!

Focus

Below is an article put out by AFA's http://www.OneNewsNow.com.  It didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.  Let's go ahead and read it.

A conservative political commentator and former presidential candidate says President Bush's aggressive promotion of amnesty for millions of illegal aliens currently in America is part of a much larger scheme that threatens the country's sovereignty.   Conservative Caucus chairman Howard Phillips says the reason President Bush has done so little to secure America's borders is that he wants to merge the United States with Mexico and Canada in a so-called "North American Union" that would parallel the European Union. Provisions in the "comprehensive immigration reform" bill in the Senate would "accelerate" the Security and Prosperity Partnership, the Bush administration's plan for the merger.

According to Phillips, the proposed merger is favored by "New World Order ideologues" and multi-national corporations. He says the multi-national corporations want the North American Union so they can bypass the high cost of labor when they hire Americans.

"Under these schemes, they can hire low-wage Mexicans -- and people from Communist China who would be able to come into the United States through Mexico -- who in some cases are slave laborers; in most cases, very low-wage laborers," the conservative icon states. "This is a dastardly scheme, and the American people have not really been told the whole story. Thank God for Lou Dobbs, who has told much of the story on CNN."

Phillips' group has formed a coalition to block the proposed merger of the three countries. He contends if the president is successful in achieving the North American Union -- an objective he describes as the "real agenda" of the Bush administration -- every citizen of Mexico and Canada would be able to travel at will into the U.S. without a visa or passport.

"And this amnesty scheme is just one component of [that agenda]," Phillips offers. "He doesn't give a darn about preventing the entrance of more illegals into the United States or the status of illegals in this country."

Phillips warns that under the proposed North American Union, virtually every citizen of Mexico and Canada would be in a position to grab benefits from America's federal treasury and state treasuries.
